Kukushkin et al. (2012) suggest presence of the species in Southern Georgia, along the Georgian-Turkish border. Guram Iremashvili recorded a viper near village Kartsakhi, which he identified as Vipera eriwanensis. The findings needs further approval (e.g. genetic analysis of the samples, as well as searching for more individuals.
